Twelve hours. One park. As many miles as you want.
Are you up to the challenge?

RACE INFO

95% single track, 4% packed gravel road, 1% grass, 0% pavement

The LB12Hr Race will challenge your endurance physically and mentally. This looped course samples the best of everything Little Bennett Regional Park has to offer, with 100% runnable terrain, excellent hills (but nothing too scary), and well-maintained trails and fire roads.

The first loop is 8.7 miles with the first half mile on gravel road to give the pack plenty of time to spread out a bit before hitting the single track. Every loop after the first loop is 7.5 miles. Each loop has roughly 800 feet of climbing. Do as many loops as you want; it's runner's choice! You will have 12 hours to run as much/little as you want. Challenge yourself to see how many loops you can do in 12 hours, or go for a milestone distance (25k, 26.2mi, 50k, 40mi, 50mi, or 100k). Awards will be based on the total distance run; time only factors in when breaking ties.

REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION FEES:

Before October 10th: $40 for FSRC members; $65 for non-members

After October 10th/Race Day: $75 for all (if available)

Registration is capped at 200 runners. Pre-registration includes swag and access to the self-proclaimed best aid station in the world.

Registration after October 10th, if available, includes swag as available, but we'll still give you access to the self-proclaimed best aid station in the world.

No entries under 18 without advance permission.

Membership in the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club is only $20/year, and gets you a full $25 off this race registration, plus lots of other perks. Won't you join us?

RESULTS & AWARDS

Overall winners are the male and female who log the most complete loops in 12 hours. In the event that more than one runner logs the same number of loops, the winner is the one that does it the fastest. Awards will also be given for fastest 100K, 50 mile, 50K, marathon, and 25K, male and female. (Sorry, no double dipping of awards. You’ll get the award for your longest distance if you qualify for more than one award.)

You must complete the entire lap to get credit for any of that loop.

ONLY EXCEPTION: when you plan to END your day at an exact milestone distance (which will end at finish line) you will start the loop and reverse course at the designated turn-around spot. In other words, if you run 37 miles, you’ll be listed in the farthest distance accomplished…in this case, the 50k.

RACE DETAILS

Schedule:
6:00am: Bib pick-up opens
6:50am: Pre-race briefing
7:00am: Race start
7:00pm: Race finish/awards

Start, Finish and In-Between Base Camp:
Each loop starts and ends at the Prescott Horse Trailer parking lot, where you’ll run past our fully-stocked aid station--and your vehicle, so you can access your gear. No bag drop necessary--pitch a tent or leave your gear in your car.  Multiple loops means your spectators can see you every 7 or 8 miles without ever leaving their chairs. A mid-loop aid station (5 miles into loop 1 and 3.7 miles into subsequent loops) will have fluids only. Aid stations are CUPLESS; bring your own cup or bottle to refill.

Crews & Pacers:
Crews: The easiest location to access your runner is at the Start/Finish Base Camp. We ask that you DO NOT park at Kingsley Parking Area as this is a popular parking area on weekends that we need to leave open for other park users.

Pacers: Runners may be joined by a Pacer after the second loop. Pacers must register on race day ($15/pacer), which gives access to all food and water on the course, plus a collapsible cup for use at cupless aid stations. Unregistered pacers that take food and water, or accompany someone on the first 2 loops, may result in disqualification of their runner, with no refund to be made to the disqualified entrant.

Refunds/Deferments/Bib Transfers:
Sorry folks, we understand that life happens, but we can’t offer refunds, deferments, or bib transfers if you can’t make it after all. The bills are paid well before race day. We race in all weather conditions, barring something so egregious that the park pulls our permits. No refunds will be offered in the event of a cancellation or rescheduled event.

Strollers and Pets:
Maybe it’s not obvious, but this course isn’t stroller friendly. We also need you to leave your pets at home. Lots of dogs and leashes and single track trails and people who aren’t accustomed to running with dogs generally doesn’t work out so well.

Other Info:
Results will be posted within 24 hours on Ultrasignup. Medical help will be available on site. Camping (no fires allowed) on site the day of the race but NOT overnight (before or after).  Overnight camping may be reserved at the campground via Little Bennett.  We recommend pitching a tent along the route In the designated areas if you wish to change, nap, eat a box of Oreos without judgement.
